Dominant Eye
We have discussed the reasons why we need to be precision orientated on the golf course. But in addition, we must also be very precise in the way that we set up our actual golfing machine (body) in order to give our mind/body system the best possible "setup" in order to be able to complete the precise task, which we have set it. I E. propel this golf ball in a specific manner to a specific spot using a specific club and type of shot. For this purpose it is going to be necessary for us to take some precise points on the ground, corresponding to the ball to target line. The ball to target line is an imaginary straight line that runs from the ball to the precise target, which you will have picked.
When picking these precise targets on the golf course, we will, just like the sharpshooter, need to use our dominant eye. The dominant eye is the one which does, unbeknownst to many people, a greater share of the work in "seeing" than the other eye. To discover which of your eyes is dominant, and which is lazy do the following test.
Take a piece of paper and fold it in half, then fold it in half again. Now tear a small piece off the inside corner. This is the corner that when you tear it off and open the sheet out again, you will have a small hole in the centre of the sheet of paper. Hold the sheet of paper out in front you and with both eyes open, looking through the hole, pick something as a target out in front of you. If you're on the golf course this could be a flag, if you're in your home this could be an ornament on a shelf, anything will do.
Now close one eye and notice if the target in the hole stays where it is or disappears. If it stays where it is and you can continue to see it, then the eye which is open is your dominant eye. To check this, close that eye and open the other eye. The target should disappear.
To recap, if you close an eye and the target stays in the aperture, that is your dominant eye. If you close an eye and the target disappears then you have closed your dominant eye, and it is your lazy eye which is open.
Now that you have discovered your dominant eye, you will use this eye to do all future targeting, just like the sharpshooter will aim using their dominant eye.
